About the event
The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at JU would like to invite everyone to a charity event “Run for a good cause”. The event will take place on the 12th of October of 2024. The idea came from Adam Kanigowski who donated the entire amount of the recently received EMS prize. Thanks to Adam’s generosity we have the opportunity to help children of our employees who need constant help and assistance. This year the entire amount is dedicated for Tadzio Kaminski, child of one of our friends.
Tadzio’s story
Tadzio was born prematurely with a general infection. Due to a congenital infection, he faced numerous complications: kidney, lung, and liver dysfunction, retinopathy of prematurity, and brain hemorrhages. Additionally, Tadzio was diagnosed with West syndrome – a drug-resistant epilepsy he struggles with every day. Tadzio cannot sit unaided, walk, or see. He is a child who constantly requires care.
Despite all these challenges, Tadzio is an extremely brave kid who strives for a better future. Our support can significantly impact his life by covering expensive treatments that he needs on a regular basis. More details on the event
- Date: 12 October 2024, at 10 am
- Location: Zakrzowek Area, Krakow
- Distance : 4x2.2 km relay
- Form: run, walk …
- Time limit: 2 hours
- Awards: each participant will receive a starting bib, water, a snack, a scarf and a medal upon reaching the finish line. The winning team will get a trophy cup.
Who can participate
The event is directed at the employees of our faculty, their families and friends. There are no age limits. The main goal is to help those in need and have fun while doing this (we welcome people of any level of fitness).
Map
The course is presented on the map below and marked with red color, the length of the course is around 2.2 km for each team member. It takes place in the picturesque Zakrzowek Park.
How to sign up?
To participate in the event you need to fill out the registration form which can be found at https://forms.office.com/e/UmhE3YGCFy. You can register as a team (4 people) or individually. Participants who register individually will be grouped into teams of 4 by the organizers. The capacity is 37 teams.
