Competition for 1 complementary PhD scholarship holder position

I have one position available for a student currently pursuing a PhD degree on a topic related to the SONATA NCN grant project "Algebraic Combinatorics in Representation Theory".

The scholarship will amount to 2400 PLN per month, for the duration of 10 months, with starting date the 15th of December 2023.

A formal requirement to obtain the scholarship is to be enrolled as a PhD student at a Polish doctoral school (university level or equivalent). More information about formal requirements can be found here.

The topics the candidate should work on are:

• Combinatorics of crystals: Different kinds of Young tableaux, string polytopes, cactus group actions on crystals

• Geometry of Schubert varieties

• Algebraic groups

Interests and skills of the ideal candidates:

• Interest in combinatorial aspects of representation theory

• Interest or experience in programming in Python (or already in Sage Math)
